Exploring the Best Lawn Care Services With INLA
The Indiana Nursery and Landscape Association (INLA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to those in the Indiana Green Industry, including lawn care companies. This August, INLA hosted one of its biggest events of the year: the 2021 INLA Summer Tour & INEF Shooting for Scholarship Fundraiser.
Day 1: INLA Summer Meeting Tours
The first day of the event included an educational and inspiring tour of some of the best lawn care service providers and INLA members.
The following stops were included on the tour, letting guests visit and admire various landscaping projects:
- Albanese Candy Factory
- Lakes of the Four Seasons Golf Course
- The Hart residence
- The Wayne Gruber residence
- The O’Drobinak residence
- The Sawgrass Subdivision Entrance
- The Rhodes residence
- Niemeyer Landscape Supply
- The Andy Mulder residence
Additional Featured Tour Destinations
Several Ricci’s Landscape Management (RLM) projects were featured several times on the tour. The third stop of the tour was the Joseph Wytovicz Residence, transformed by Ricci’s Landscape Management to reflect Mr. Wytovicz’s global travels. Participants viewed the sparkling pool and beautiful outdoor space, where they learned that the project involved mostly manual labor because of limited access.
The fifth tour stop took guests to Ricci’s Landscape Management’s new store, which is an attractive modern space and an educational training ground for employees. Many types of plants indoors and outdoors help employees learn plant identification, proper grouping and health requirements.
Participants could also examine other RLM projects, including the McDermott Residence. This property featured a wooded area around the exterior, sparkling water features, a fire basin and some synthetic practice greens for a fresh and inviting space.
A tour dinner and auction at the residence of Dean Ricci and Jamie Ricci topped off the day. Over one hundred guests enjoyed delicious food, music and dancing in Ricci’s beautiful outdoor space. A moment of silence for INLA member Rob Delaby preceded the auction, which raised $7,775 for INLA scholarships.
Day 2: Shooting for Scholarships and the Auction
On the second day, participants met at the Back Forty Gun Club in Bourbon for instructions for the clay shooting event. The INEF Shooting for Scholarships event had 47 individual participants and a total of nine teams. Ricci’s Landscape Management was pleased to achieve second place. It extended hearty congratulations to first place winners, the Franco team, and to Brian Hominiuk, who won the highest individual score.
After the shooting event, it was time for a live auction. Thanks to the help of lawn care service providers and others in the industry, the two days of events raised a total of $13,015 for scholarships.
